The Shikoku pilgrimage is a 1200km route connecting 88 Shingon Buddhist temples which are scattered around the Japanese island of Shikoku. I will begin the pilgrimage May 23rd and spend roughly 40 days walking around the island and visitng the temples. This is an adventure which was decided apon 6 years ago and which I've spent the last year and a half preparing for. You're welcome to join me as I update my progress from the road.
today's walk, 27.4km and all of it on highway, although there is less traffic the further south i get.
for those following on a map, i'm staying in kaiyo-cho (海陽町).
tomorrow i enter kochi prefecture. it's another big day. i best get to sleep.

I'm a 31 year old Canadian who has been living in Japan for six years. Life has been a little soft over the past few years and I've become a big ol' ball of butter. I've endured all of previous challenges but this will be a real test for me.
